Upcoming Fair Trade Events in San Diego

The first fair trade event at the Immaculata was a huge success.  Thank you all who made a purchase, enjoyed Ben & Jerry's, Ryan Brothers and Equal Exchange Chocolates and all the activities for kids.  It was a wonderful day to learn about fair trade, supporting people in developing countries and all the vendors who support fair trade principles. They make a difference by bringing these products to San Diego.  Participating vendors include:  Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream, Ember Arts, Equal Exchange, Fair Trade Decor, Fair World Fashions,  Malia Designs, Mission Heights Fair Trade Chocolates, Noonday Collections, Ryan Brothers, The Golden Rule and The Guatemala Project.

Celebrating Earth Day in La Mesa!

The Parks and Recreation Foundation celebrated it's first Earth Day at Harry Griffin Park on April 27, 2019.  La Mesa Fair Trade teamed up with St. Martin of Tours Academy (a Fair Trade School) to continue the  education of fair trade, pass out samples of Tony's Chocolony chocolates and information brochures.  The school also donated a fair trade soccer ball for a raffle prize. It was exciting to have Mayor Mark Arapostathis talk to the students and adults about this accomplishment.  Fair Trade vendors included Threads Worldwide, Akazi and Sseko.  Everyone had a great day!
